Dear Potter’s House Community,

Since the beginning of the pandemic, we have implemented an array of safety measures under the guidance of the local and state health departments, which have helped to mitigate the spread of COVID-19 within our community. One of these measures has been creating ways to make testing for COVID-19 easily accessible to anyone who wanted it. We are happy to announce that we will be partnering with ALM HealthCare and MedEffective Labs in order to provide optional weekly testing twice a week on Mondays and Thursdays for any student, staff member, or parent who wants it, starting on Monday, January 10

Option 1: The Potter's House Elm. & Middle School (810 Van Raalte Dr. SW, Grand Rapids, MI)
*Parents of students in grades Pre-School - Grade 5 are asked to escort their children to Room 166, the small conference room in the Chapel.

  • Room: TPH Chapel Conference Room—enter at the west Chapel entrance
  • 7:00am-9:00am
  • Walk-ins are welcome

Option 2: The Potter's House High School (2465 St. SW, Wyoming, MI)

  • Room: TPH HS Conference Room
  • 7:00am-9:00am
  • Walk-ins are welcome

This service will be provided completely free of charge for any student, staff member, or parent. The testing will help us identify any positive cases as soon as they are detected, take the appropriate actions to notify parents & staff, and keep more students in school, thereby lessening the number of disruptions to the lives of our families.

Tests will be conducted with two simple cheek swabs by trained lab technicians on a weekly basis. One sample will be used for a Rapid Antigen Test that will give us results within 15 minutes, and the second sample will be used for a PCR Test, which will provide results that will be emailed to the parent/guardian email that is provided below and provided to the school within 24 to 48 Hours.

If you and/or your student would like to participate in this weekly testing program, please fill out and submit this consent form linked below.

When the consent form is submitted, participants will be automatically placed on the weekly schedule to receive COVID-19 tests on both days of the week for the remainder of the testing program. Participants can sign up at any time between now and when the program is no longer available (estimated to be the end of the school year), and they only need to complete the consent form once. If participants are unable to be present for a testing day, please inform the school by emailing The Potter’s House COVID-19 Safety Coordinator.

If the test results are positive, please contact your family doctor immediately to review the test results and discuss what you should do next. Also, please call The Potter’s House at (616) 241-5202 ext. 3707 or email in order to receive a return date back to the classroom and to receive any answers to questions you may have.

We are so grateful for your ongoing support and flexibility during this school year. Many of our community members have had to overcome several hurdles to continue chasing after the mission of providing a Christ-centered education for our students and form them into resilient followers of Jesus. Thank you for your continued patience and understanding as we adapt to the new circumstances that cross our united path.

In Christ,

Miles Colago, Assistant Superintendent
